TRANSPORT MINA KHALID

In the beginning of November 2011, TTS transported three tanks in from the fabrication yard to the jetty in Mina Khalid, Sharjah, U.A.E. destined for the Dukkum Gas Installation, Qatar.

The transport was a tailor-made operation to relocate one 80T tank and one 40T tank, each with a length of 30m, by means of two sets of 16-axle combinations of Nicolas hydraulic trailers, and another tank weighing 30T by means of an extendable swan-neck hydraulic trailer.

The particular concern in carrying out this operation was the support of the longer tanks along their lengths, which was eradicated by using hydraulic trailers and saddle supports instead of the more commonly used dolly trailers.
